heterosexuals simply don't feel strongly enough about non-heterosexuals to approach anything close to hatred.

it takes a lot to laugh, it takes a train to cry and it takes one to know and hate about others those things one hates most about oneself.

I think the implication is that god is gay - because if he was straight he wouldn't care about gays enough to kick up a fuss about them
